Adventure Consultant at the Adventure Booking Centre in Llanrwst

The job entails working within a team to deal with inward customer enquiries and our Adventure Booking Centre and our new Adventure Bookings Hub in Betws Y Coed opening for Easter 2017. This will include close liaison with all Zip World sites, Office Managers, Business Development Team and the Zip World Directors.

Weekends, bank holidays, school holidays are our busiest times. Your working hours will be reflective of this.

Principal Responsibilities

  • To actively respond to customer phone enquiries
  • To complete customer bookings for our range of adventures
  • To support outbound sales campaigns
  • To promote all Zip World adventures to our customers
  • To contact customers with updates on adventure ride status’s
  • Maintain excellent customer service in a busy and sometimes pressurised environment
  • Work with all Zip World staff to deliver excellent customer service and promote the Zip World values

Staff Package: A competitive wage in line with Zip World’s pay structure. A fixed term contract of a minimum of 16 hours per week until 3rd September 2017.

Start dates: We require 3 consultants to start 5th June and 3 to start 26th June

Adventure Host

Location – Zip World Blaenau Ffestiniog, Bethesda & Fforest

Principal Responsibilities

  • To carry out all reception and administrative processes and functions including guest bookings, enquiries, guest check in’s and general guest care.
  • To promote and conclude merchandise sales.
  • To promote other Zip World sites and Adventures.
  • To liaise with the operational staff at Velocity

Essential Requirements and skills

  • Is practically minded
  • Is guest focused
  • Able to communicate and consult with and report to the Office Manager, General/Operations Manager at all stages
  • Able to work alone and on one’s own initiative.
  • Participation in staff meetings
  • Participation in training activities
  • Taking responsibility for ones own personal development by keeping abreast of legal requirements/terms and conditions relating to your role and techniques and policies associated with associated best working practices
  • To be responsible for your own health and safety and that of anybody else whom your acts or omissions may affect

Staff Package 
Contracts are seasonal and we would envisage you working between 30-40hrs per week during the summer months. Following completion of a summer season there will be a limited number of winter contracts available. The hourly rate of pay is £8.81 per hour.

Duties include:

  • Undertaking preparation of the food and beverages served in the café
  • Cleaning the kitchen and café area
  • Operating the till
  • Washing up
  • Serving customers in a pleasant manner

Staff Package Contracts are 0hr. We would envisage you working between 25-30 per week during the summer months. Flexibility and weekend work in essential.

It is not essential to hold a host of qualifications in relation to the outdoors although we do require all instructing staff to hold a recognised, in date, first aid certificate to emergency first aid at work level. If you do not currently hold such a qualification, you will be required to complete a course organised by Zip World on commencement of your employment at a cost to yourself.

Hours: 40 hours

Salary: To be in the region of £35,000 to £40,000 per annum dependant on experience

Location: Zip World Base Camp - Llanrwst

Key responsibilities:

Management

  • Maintain a documented system of accounting policies and procedures
  • Oversee the day to day operations of the accounting department, including the accounting operations of subsidiary companies

Transactions

  • Ensure that accounts payable are paid in a timely manner
  • Ensure that all reasonable discounts are taken on accounts payable
  • Ensure rent payable is calculated correctly and paid in a timely manner to landlords
  • Oversee and review the payroll process and ensure staff are paid in a timely manner
  • Ensure that periodic bank reconciliations are completed
  • Ensure that required debt payments are made on a timely basis
  • Maintain the chart of accounts
  • Maintain an orderly accounting filing system
  • Maintain a system of controls over accounting transactions

Reporting

  • Issue timely and complete monthly management accounts
  • Recommend benchmarks against which to measure the performance of company operations
  • Calculate and issue financial and operating metrics
  • Manage the production of the annual budget and forecasts
  • Calculate variances from the budget and report significant issues to management
  • Provide for a system of management cost reports
  • Provide financial analyses as needed, in particular for capital investments, pricing decisions, and contract negotiations

Compliance

  • Coordinate the provision of information to external auditors for the annual audit and for the preparation of the year end financial statements for the group including any subsidiary companies
  • Monitor debt levels and compliance with debt covenants
  • Comply with Companies House and HMRC reporting requirements

Essential Requirements and skills

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting, business, economics, finance or a related field
  • Previous proven experience in a business or finance environment
  • Analytical, critical thinking and mathematical skills
  • Computer skills – particularly use of Microsoft Excel
  • Excellent written and spoken communication skills that allow you to inform and advise others
  • Organisational and planning skills to manage your time and to meet deadlines and objectives
  • Initiative and the ability to offer new ideas
  • Interpersonal skills that enable you to work with and motivate people at all levels

Preferred 

  • Fully qualified Chartered Accountant - ACA or ACCA
  • Management experience
  • Experience of Sage 50 accounting software

Accounts Assistant – Zip World

  • Matching purchase orders to purchase invoices, following up discrepancies
  • Maintaining and creating multiple financial spreadsheets on excel
  • Organising and filing financial documents using coding system
  • Matching invoices to supplier statements and requesting missing invoices
  • Reconciling statements and chasing missing receipts
  • Entering purchase invoices on sage 50
  • Procurement
  • Booking accommodation and vehicles

Essential Requirements and skills

  • Interpersonal skills which enable you to work with people at all levels
  • Organisational and planning skills
  • Time management and ability to meet deadlines
  • Experience of working with Sage 50 accounts
  • Good knowledge and experience of excel
  • Good telephone manner
  • Positive working attitude
