It is not essential to hold a host of qualifications in relation to the outdoors although we do require all instructing staff to hold a recognised, in date, first aid certificate to emergency first aid at work level. If you do not currently hold such a qualification, you will be required to complete a course organised by Zip World on commencement of your employment at a cost to yourself.

Staff Package 
Contracts are seasonal and we would envisage you working between 30-40hrs per week during the summer months. Following completion of a summer season there will be a limited number of winter contracts available.

You shall be paid at the National Minimum Wage rate for the initial training period only. On successful completion of the training period, your rate of pay shall increase to £8.50. Once all competencies/criteria have been met, your hourly rate will rise to £9.62 per hour.

Adventure Consultant at the Adventure Booking Centre in Llanrwst

The job entails working within a team to deal with inward customer enquiries and our Adventure Booking Centre and our new Adventure Bookings Hub in Betws Y Coed opening for Easter 2017. This will include close liaison with all Zip World sites, Office Managers, Business Development Team and the Zip World Directors.

Principal Responsibilities

  • To actively respond to customer phone enquiries
  • To complete customer bookings for our range of adventures
  • To support outbound sales campaigns
  • To promote all Zip World adventures to our customers
  • To contact customers with updates on adventure ride status’s
  • Maintain excellent customer service in a busy and sometimes pressurised environment
  • Work with all Zip World staff to deliver excellent customer service and promote the Zip World values

  • To carry out all reception and administrative processes and functions including guest bookings, enquiries, guest check in’s and general guest care.
  • To promote and conclude merchandise sales.
  • To promote other Zip World sites and Adventures.
  • To liaise with the operational staff at Velocity

Cafe Assistants needed at Zip World Fforest!

Health and Safety Coordinator – Company Wide

As a Health and Safety Coordinator, you will work closely with the Head of Technical Operations, the Adventure Safety Manager and site General Managers to promote a positive health and safety culture across the organisation.
Your focus will be on the health, safety and welfare of the staff and customers.  You will be involved in H and S related training, policy and procedure, risk assessments and compliance.
You will work primarily from our newly refurbished "Base Camp" but will also be required to travel between our three sites in North Wales.

Requirements and skills:

Location: The Adventure Terminal at Zip World Penrhyn Quarry, Bethesda.

Key responsibilities:

Carry out routine maintenance across site, including;

  • Undertaking handypersons duties as required
  • Arrange to clear blockages, remove foreign matter from sinks, toilets, drains, kitchen grease traps etc. and clean up spillages as required
  • Undertake limited porterage tasks as required including setting up and clearing away furniture
  • Carry out routine grounds keeping work across site
  • To carry out grass cutting, strimming, hedge trimming and some grounds maintenance.
  • Record and log work in line with Zip World policy
  • To maintain appropriate records including intruder alarm logbook, weekly fire alarm and emergency lighting tests
  • Log repair orders, purchase orders and inspections as per Zip World policy
  • Liaise with approved contractors to arrange specific work
  • To report emergencies in the case of faults with gas, electric and water supply and report minor faults on site to the Duty Manager
  • To comply with the requirements of Health and Safety, other relevant legislation and Zip World policies
  • Ensure the Penrhyn Quarry site is maintained to the high standards our guests expect
  • To carry out any other reasonable duties within the overall function of the job

Requirements and skills:

  • Practical DIY skills to carry out minor repairs
  • The ability to manage your own workload
  • Good problem solving skills
  • Awareness of health, safety, security and hygiene issues

Principal Responsibilities

  • Coordinate/carry out all Inspections and maintenance for all activity equipment and structures, including PPE, in line with company policy
  • To manage suitable stock levels and ordering of spare parts and replacements for continued operation
  • Coordinate all Inspection and maintenance for the onsite fleet of vehicles
  • Work closely with the Adventure Safety Manager to ensure best practice, compliance and budget efficiency's
  • Be involved in the development of all safety documentation for Inspection and maintenance operations, (risk assessments and safe systems of work)
  • To train on site staff in any maintenance and inspection procedures in line with company policy
  • To ensure sufficient recording of all work undertaken in line with company policy
  • To line manage team of maintenance technicians 
  • To manage and ensure highest standards are maintained with the maintenance team and targets are set

The successful candidate will have previous leadership experience and will be comfortable working in a fast-paced changeable environment. As Team Leader, you will be required to carry out Duty Manger shifts, assist with training, monitoring and assessments. This is a pivotal role within our team and leading by example will be paramount.

As this role will require the successful applicant to carry out specialist duties specific to the Velocity experience all training will be included.

Location: Base Camp - Llanrwst

Key responsibilities:

  • Supporting the HR Manager with all aspects of HR administration, including Recruitment
  • Administration of the HR and Training email systems
  • Ensuring that all HR and Training records are up to date
  • Liaise with the HR Manager and Adventure Training Manager to identify and schedule training sessions
  • Meet with our partners and coordinate training at our sites
