What to expect...

Grab a helmet and hop aboard Europe’s steepest railway for an unforgettable voyage 500ft underground. Make your way through the impressive Victorian Mine, bursting with bright illuminations and festive touches at every turn.

Watch your little one's eyes light up as they meet Santa and his Elves and make memories at his enchanted Grotto. But hold on to your presents, there might be a name from Santa’s naughty list sneaking around too…

Add an extra sprinkling of excitement to your experience by heading over to the world’s first adventure golf in a cave as part of our brand new Grotto Golf package.

Once you’ve soaked up the festive atmosphere and taken plenty of pictures, head back up to the surface for a spot of slate-bauble crafting and to enjoy some complimentary seasonal treats!

Train Underground

Santa’s Grotto is extremely special and can’t be reached on foot. To access the remarkable old mine, you must ride Europe’s steepest cable railway and descend 500ft below ground!

The cable railway goes at a steady pace and is lit with colourful Christmas lights to guide the way. With space for 6 per carriage, it’ll take around 90 seconds to reach the wintery wonderland that awaits below. Our Elves will take good care of you as you reach the platform and begin the rest of your magical journey.

Grotto Experience

This Grotto is unlike any other. Head through the underground tunnels lit with thousands of twinkling lights, before making your way through to the striking chamber of Santa’s Grotto. Complete with a wood burner and throne, the Grotto is a cosy den where you can make memories with the man himself and let him know your Christmas wish.

Gift from Santa

It wouldn’t be a Grotto experience without a little something to take home before the big day. Santa has gifts for children between the ages of 3 and 15, and you’re more than welcome to open these while you’re with us or save them for Christmas Day.

Letter to Santa

Why not make the most out of meeting the man himself by delivering your letter personally? In return, you’ll receive a special message from the Official Desk of Santa Clause to take home with you.

Slate Bauble Crafting Experience

Not only do you get a gift from Santa, but you also get your very own Welsh slate bauble to decorate at our craft station! Decorate to your heart’s content before bringing it home to take centre stage on your Christmas tree.

Hot Chocolate or Mulled Wine and a Mince Pie

Nothing says Christmas like enjoying a complimentary warm mug of hot chocolate or mulled wine and tucking into a tasty mince pie. Delicious!

NEW FOR 2022: Grotto Golf!

Does Christmas bring out the competitiveness in your family? Wrap up your Zipmas experience with the world’s first adventure golf in a cavern. 

Enjoy some competitive family fun as you navigate your way around this exciting 18-hole adventure golf course, full of sensory experiences, simulated explosions, and impressive lightning. 

Taking around 1 hour to complete, this unique adventure is perfect for all the family and is sure to start your festivities with a bang!

When and Where?

Zipmas will be held at Zip World Llechwedd, Blaenau Ffestiniog on from the 25th of November until the 24th of December and the children attending must be of walking ability.
