General Manager – Zip World Penrhyn Quarry

Building great teams is part of our success and our people mean the world to us in Zip World and we are looking for a passionate General Manager to motivate and inspire the large team (100+) at Penrhyn Quarry by creating an extraordinary place to work and translate this into smashing sales targets. 

This exciting opportunity is core to creating extraordinary experiences in a safe environment whilst maximising productivity, this will be achieved by using leadership skills, operational discipline, and commercial acumen to ensure delivery across the entire site. 

What will this role entail? 

• Providing vision to the team, gaining buy-in and commitment to continually improve and challenge performance 
• Taking responsibility for the delivery of operational excellence across the entire site, developing your team through support and coaching 
• Building a culture that is truly passionate about the needs of our customers.
• Monitor day-to-day operational systems and processes that provide visibility into goals, progress, and obstacles for our key activities 
• Accountability for the performance of the site both operationally and commercially  
• Monitoring the revenue and participant numbers for the site, looking to undertake corrective action as needed 
• Constantly looking to find opportunities to grow the site's sales and working collaboratively with the marketing teams to identify and execute local sales initiatives 
• Responsible for the local marketing plan and events for the site, seeking support from the central marketing team as required 
• Meticulous focus on safety and compliance-driven through accountability  
• Taking on accountability for site safety in conjunction with the Health, Safety & Risk Manager, ensuring that all accidents and reports are in line with company policy. 
• Control all aspects of the site P&L 
• Monitoring and reviewing control of the use of resource to ensure expenditure is controlled within budget throughout the year 

What will I need to be considered for this role?  

• Razor-sharp focus on the customer experience and delivering this consistently through operational excellence while getting into the detail on what makes a customer visit extraordinary. 
• Ability to build great relationships internally at all levels as well as 3rd Party on-site partnerships. 
• Commercially minded with a record of accomplishment of growing sales and profit year on year. 
• 2 years experience as a General Manager with full sales and profit responsibility across a multi-channel leisure and hospitality business
• A great communicator who can be themselves, have fun, dream big and be part of the future growth of Zip World 

 Desirable: 

• A passion for the outdoors 
• Experience of working within a seasonal staffing environment 
• Experience of working in a similar position in the adventure industry 
• Delivery of large-scale projects/investment
