HR Business Partner - Zip World Base Camp Llanrwst

The role of HR Business Partner at Zip World will offer exposure to a broad range of HR activity with a specific focus on Recruitment. The diversity of the organisations estate ensures that no two days are the same and provides endless opportunities to shape the way the business operates from a HR and Recruitment perspective. Your ability to build collaborative relationships and understand the business is key, as is the ability to draw on your proven Recruitment and HR generalist experience, and your capacity to work in an agile environment.  

What will this role entail?   

The HR Business Partner will have responsibility for the delivery and oversight of recruitment and payroll via a managed payroll provider and support the HR Operations Manager. 

HR 

  • Understanding and interpret HR needs at each Zip World site 
  • Create meaningful impact in priority areas such as talent retention and employee engagement and motivation 
  • To manage first stage disciplinary/grievance procedures  
  • Provide ER training to managers to enable them to upskill and develop the ability to handle employee relations, taking on casework across sites and Base Camp and coaching managers in the process to improve their confidence  
  • Identify and implement HR business improvements such as streamlined processes, consistent documentation  
  • Update and review job descriptions eg add tasks or modify requirements as necessary  
  • Apprenticeship scheme; organising and facilitating the company’s Apprenticeship scheme 
  • Take a lead role on staff welfare, staff engagement and focus on retention  
  • To assist the HR Manager with administrative duties where required  
  • To lead HR initiatives and projects when required  

Recruitment 

  • Manage multiple roles at any one time, including some niche roles 
  • Seeking out the best talent through business recruitment campaigns 
  • Utilising LinkedIn to approach passive candidates and build talent pools 
  • Create engaging content to post on job boards and LinkedIn, maintain the Zip World jobs website and contribute to internal recruitment campaigns, promoting the positions and business to prospective candidates 
  • Embed and maintain an Applicant Tracking System 
  • Motivating and leading the Recruitment coordinator, building recruitment strategies  
  • Help to ensure our candidate experience is at the forefront of recruitment and the process is consistent, engaging, and fair 
  • Partner with internal stakeholders to understand requirements and ensure our processes and practices are fit for purpose. 
  • Ensure recruitment process is legally compliant and keep our HR policies up to date reflecting any legislative changes  
  • Manage and provide status updates to the HR Manager, hiring managers and members of the Executive team when required  
  • When working with recruitment agencies ensure that a partnership relationship is maintained, and quality standards upkept  
  • Oversee the induction and training sessions for all new starters  
  • Demonstrate awareness of employment competitors, legal updates, and employment trends  
  • Analyse turnover and retention rates to forecast future hiring needs  

Payroll 

  • Update payroll on any amendments (salary increase, bonus payments etc) 
  • Export and analyse monthly payroll reports for variable pay 
  • Ensure all staff databases are kept up to date and are accurate
  • To effectively manage and oversee the labour planning software, ensuring it is being used to its full potential  

What will I need to be considered for this role?   

  • CIPD Level 5 qualified (or above)
  • Multi-site operational experience 
  • Experience of recruiting within a commercial environment with multiple job disciplines 
  • Can build good working relationships with key departmental stakeholders 
  • Strong HR, Recruitment and Payroll background with good financial knowledge; with a particular understanding of payroll costs and the impact on the business 
  • Strategic thinker and innovator with integrity and resilience 
  • Collaborative style of working and enjoys working as part of a team whilst leading from the front 
  • A “do-er” who can ‘roll their sleeves up’ when required and resolves issues with minimum fuss 
  • People-centred with an ability to instil confidence and trust in others 

What will I recieve in return?

As the HR Business Partner, you will receive an attractive salary between £30,000 - £35,000 level dependent on experience and qualifications, plus a range of attractive benefits including free and discounted access to all Zip World adventures, food and beverage discounts at Zip World sites, and social events throughout the year.

Contract: Permanent, working Monday to Friday, 9am to 5:30pm, with infrequent weekend work required to accommodate business needs.

Location: Llanrwst (Conwy County, North Wales), no working from home arrangements.
