PR & Events Officer

Main Purpose of the Job

Working within a growing marketing team, you will be responsible for managing the reputation of the organisation through the planning and development of PR & Event strategies and delivering a positive and impactful plan. You will work with national and regional press, managing broadcast and leading events. Working closely with PR & Event agencies in delivering projects on budget.

Contract:  Permanent, Full Time

Location:  Llanrwst plus other North Wales sites

Closing Date:  27th January 2019

Salary:  £22,000 - £28,000

Key Responsibilities

Take ownership for the development of Zip World events, from initial concept through to event wrap up including income projections and post event P&L
You’ll be expected to be highly proactive with an in-depth knowledge of Digital PR strategies which drive awareness and be able to measure results
You’ll work closely with our social media and digital team to create cross platform campaigns. An understanding of the digital landscape and its opportunities is essential
You’ll need to manage photography and filming suppliers to produce great quality visual content to maximise awareness
Hosting print and broadcast journalists onsite is a large part of the job. You will need to ensure that they leave with accurate messaging having experienced the very best that Zip World has to offer
You’ll lead on our community partner network - developing relationships with local businesses and DMO’s to create shared marketing opportunities to promote North Wales
You’ll manage our relationship with our consumer press agency
You’ll have good evaluation skills and be able to review how a campaign has performed and how it could be improved
Provide support to the Sales and Marketing Director with regards to media buying
Liaise with General Managers to manage press visits effectively, ensuring the operational impact is minimal.

Essential Requirements and skills

Experience working in an agency or in-house environment for a consumer brand, ideally within the tourism sector
Articulate, commercially and results driven
Highly creative and capable of generating new and innovative ideas
Experience in planning multimedia campaigns
Organised and ability to plan ahead, with the flexibility to identify and capitalise on emerging opportunities
Researching, writing and distributing press releases
Selling stories to media contacts
Interpersonal skills that enable you to work with people at all levels
Excellent written and spoken communication skills that allow you to inform and advise others clearly
Full clean driving licence.
