A selection of frequently asked questions

Opening times vary and depend on which site you plan to visit. If you would like to find out about our opening times please call or email the booking centre.

The booking centre is currently operating to reduced hours due to the Covid-19 pandemic. It is open between 10.00am - 2.00pm Monday to Friday. Please be patient if calling or feel free to email the team at info@zipworld.co.uk if your query is not urgent.

To avoid disappointment we highly recommend you pre-book your adventure, especially in holiday periods. Due to the Covid-19 pandemic, we are operating with reduced availability to enable easier social distancing, so to avoid disappointment please do book ahead.

If you’d prefer to speak to one of the team and book over the phone, please call 01248 601 444.

Please note a £4.50 booking and admin fee is charged for bookings made over the phone & £3.50 when ordering online. This fee applies for total booking, not per ticket.

Spectators are welcome at all Zip World sites - however please be aware it is not always possible for spectators to see all/any of the adventures.

Zip World Penrhyn Quarry, Bethesda
Sit back and relax in Blondin Restaurant in the Adventure Terminal as your loved ones soar overhead on Velocity 2 - being a spectator has never been better. You can stand outside on the platform to watch or sit at the picnic tables - the choice is yours.

Zip World Slate Caverns, Blaenau Ffestiniog
If taking part in Bounce Below doesn't appeal to all your group, for £5 per person you can venture underground and watch the spectacular scene.

There is unfortunately no spectator area for Zip World Caverns.

Zip World Fforest, Betws y Coed
Feel free to take a walk around the Zip World Fforest and take in all the action. There is a picnic area next to Fforest Coffi right next to the Fforest Coaster, as well as another by Treetop Nets. Fancy being inside? Take a break inside Fforest Caffi instead.

We welcome everyone to all our sites; however, whilst our activities are designed to be accessible to most people they do offer a degree of physical and mental challenge.

For some people with additional needs this may mean that additional equipment and/or persons will be required for safe participation, however additional measures cannot be guaranteed.  Only Velocity at Zip World Penrhyn, Bethesda is suitable for wheelchair users and must be by prior arrangement.

Please visit our Medical Restrictions page or e-mail accessibility@zipworld.co.uk and we will endeavour to assist you.

Face coverings (Covid-19)
In response to the ongoing pandemic, you may choose to wear a face covering during your visit to Zip World. This is not mandatory, but if you do so you will be helping to keep other customers and our team safe. If you are taking part in Velocity 2, you will be asked to wear a face covering during the journey up to the zip line dispatch point in our red army trucks. Temporary face coverings will be provided to you by us.

Zip World Velocity & Zip World Titan:
Prepare for all weather! For the colder days, it is strongly advised that you wear gloves whilst participating and we recommend wearing sensible warm/waterproof clothing. For those warmer summer days, still consider you are in a mountainous environment and temperatures will be significantly lower.

Zip World Caverns & Bounce Below:
The activity is based in an underground cavern where the temperature is approximately 10 °C. Please wear suitable clothing that covers your arms and legs, preferably old garments in the likelihood of dirt/damage occurring. For Caverns, please wear either trainers or walking boots; for Bounce Below, please wear trainers.  Open toe shoes, flip flops, sandals or similar footwear are not permitted. As you will be participating in physical activity, we can not accept liability for any damage to any items of clothing, footwear etc.

Zip World Quarry Karts
As an outdoor adventure you are advised to dress appropriately for the weather conditions. Long sleeves and trousers are recommended, while open toe shoes, flip flops, sandals or similar footwear are not permitted.

All Zip World activities:
Long hair should be tied back, all jewellery and scarves to be removed and skirts are not recommended.
On your feet, please wear trainers or walking boots - open toe shoes, flip flops, sandals or similar footwear are not permitted.
Zip World reserves the right to refuse admittance should appropriate clothing not be worn. As you will be participating in physical activity, we can not accept liability for any damage to any items of clothing, footwear etc.

To minimise potential touchpoints in light of the Covid-19 pandemic, on site lockers will be temporarily unavailable. We are asking customers to leave any personal belongings that you don’t wish to bring on your adventure in the car while you are taking part. You can return to your car for anything you might need before or after your adventure, while you are on site. We advise leaving any valuables at home where possible.

Under no circumstances may you fly a drone on any of our sites.

We have spent this period while we’ve been unable to operate carefully planning how to change our way of doing things to fit in with social distancing and government guidelines. This will ensure that our customers and team are protected as fully as possible. These can be summarised in 6 steps, which you can read about here. If you’ve visited us before, please be aware site layouts may have changed so keep an eye out for directional signage when you arrive.

We will be updating these FAQs with more details in the coming weeks.

If this is the case or you have been advised to isolate yourself, please contact our Adventure Booking Centre on 01248 601 444 and they will be happy to reschedule your adventure for another date, free of charge. Please do not visit our site in person.

Due to government guidelines we will not be offering sit-down style restaurant or cafe options on our sites until it is safe to do so. There will be a range of “grab and go” style food as well as hot and cold drinks that you can enjoy while on site, for example while using our picnic benches or on your journey home.

We are closely monitoring government guidelines and will announce relaunch plans for each adventure when we are certain we can operate safely without compromising the exhilarating experiences we provide. We're pleased to be able to confirm that Velocity 2, Fforest Coaster, Zip Safari 2, Plummet 2, Skyride 2 and Tree Hoppers are able to operate from July 6th. Other adventures will follow later, so please check our social media channels and website for the latest updates.

If you have visited us before or just seen photos and videos online, our adventures will be just as exhilarating as ever once we reopen. If an adventure is incompatible with government guidelines, it will not open until it is safe to do so. We are changing things like where you wait before you take part in an adventure, making sure you wash your hands before and after, and may ask members of your group to help with getting your kit on and off (where applicable) to minimise contact with our team.

Currently, in line with government guidelines, wearing face coverings at our sites is voluntary. If you choose to do so, you are welcome to, but it is not mandatory. The only exception to this is with Velocity 2, where you will be asked to wear a face covering during the journey to the zip line dispatch point in our army trucks (a disposable face covering will be provided to you by us).
