Velocity is the fastest zip line in the world and the longest in the UK which includes Wales, England and Scotland. It offers an unbeatable adventure for groups alongside Quarry Karts and historical tours. Enjoy food and views at the Blondin Restaurant. Set in Snowdonia near Bangor and Llandudno, it is one of the most accessible and iconic zip lines in Wales.
Restrictions
Before booking this adventure, please carefully review the following restrictions to ensure you and your party meet the minimum participation requirements. Any participant under 18 years of age must be accompanied by an adult aged 18 years or over, and in most cases, an adult must take part in the group unless stated otherwise.
Supervision for under 18’s
1 participating adult 18 yrs+ is required for every 3 children <18 yrs

A minimum height of 1.2m is required for this adventure
Max Weight
Participants must weigh no more than 130kg to take part in this adventure

What to expect from your experience
So what’s involved in the experience? Here we’ll talk you through each step of the process for ultimate peace-of-mind. You’ll see just how accessible this adventure really is!
Check-in
The first step of any Zip World adventure; arrive half an hour before your start-time to check-in at reception. If you’ve already signed your waiver, your check-in process will be as fast as the zip line you’re about to do!
Kit-up
Once checked-in, you’ll be called through to the kit-up area with the rest of your group (which will be up to 24 people). Here a few members of our team will kick things off with a safety briefing, followed by kitting you into your harness. Alongside your harness, you’ll also get a helmet and a pair of goggles. This process is entirely instructor-led, and your harness will be double checked.
Little zip
Once kitted-up, you and your group will take a short walk over to the top of the little zip. This first zip line will allow you to get a feel for the adventure and prepare you for what’s ahead! Again, this is entirely instructor-led, so all you need to do is listen to what they say and follow their lead. This zip line reaches speeds of around 30-40mph, and features 4 parallel lines.
Truck ride
Once you’ve touched-down at the end of the little zip, you’ll all hop inside one of our iconic red ex-army trucks. You'll then go along the 3km mountain track to the very top of the big zip! This ride is bumpy as you’d expect, which just adds to the fun, and is a great little added extra to your experience! This journey will take around 15 minutes.
Big zip
At the top of the mountain, you’ll get the chance to soak up the out-of-this-world Eryri (Snowdonia) views. Then you'll head into the cosy Skyline building (with a roaring log burner for the colder winter months of course!) There you will have your final safety briefing and to take-on the famous Velocity zip line! Just like every other step of the journey, this is instructor-led, so you don’t need to worry about a thing. You’ll be soaring along the quarry at up to 100mph+ before you know it!
De-kit
Once you’ve flown a mile at up to 100mph+ roughly 50 seconds later, you’ll have a short walk back to the reception building. There you will follow signs to the de-kit area. Here, a member of our team will take your harness off for you, and you will get the chance to view and purchase your headcam footage. Anyone who has pre-purchased will also receive their footage here.

When should I arrive?
You will need to arrive on site ready to check in for your experience 30 minutes prior to your adventure start time.
What should I wear?
You will need to wear warm comfortable clothing suitable to the weather on the day, with walking boots or trainers. Some of our experiences require your arms and legs to be covered, please check individual adventure restrictions to see if this applies to you.
Can I protect my booking in case of unforeseen circumstances?
Yes, you can purchase ticket protection insurance at checkout, giving you added peace of mind if unforeseen circumstances affect your plans and you need to claim a refund. Please read TicketPlan’s terms and conditions to find out what is and isn’t covered.
Can I book over the phone?
It is quicker to book online, but you’re welcome to call us if you’d prefer; please do so on 01248 601 444. Please note there may be a wait time on the phone, particularly during busy periods.
When are you open?
We are open all year round except Christmas day and Boxing Day. During off-peak seasons, please visit our checkout to see our booking calendar and our opening days. Each site has different opening times and days so please check our website.

Do I need to book in advance or can I just turn up?
We’d always recommend booking in advance to avoid disappointment. If you turn up without a booking, we will do our best to fit you in, but cannot guarantee this. Please be sure to book in advance if you’re travelling a distance to visit us.
I am a content creator and want to work with Zip World
Content creators are welcome to book onto experiences themselves and film using a phone, without any special equipment. This can be done without prior discussion or supervision from the marketing team. If you’re interested in a formal collaboration with us, please get in touch before your visit.
