The Ultimate scare-fest in North Wales | Zip World Ffear Fforest
October half term and Halloween are just around the corner! The sell-out Ffear Fforest scarefest returns to Zip World Betws-y-Coed once more for a fortnight of award-winning adventures in the dark, a horde of demonic clowns, and plenty of jumpscares… here’s everything you need to know about Ffear Fforest at Zip World Betws-y-Coed in North Wales.
What to expect at Ffear Fforest
What makes Ffear Fforest different to any other Halloween event is that the entire Zip World park becomes part of the experience.
The Cursed Coaster is one of the headline attractions. You'll climb 700 metres through pitch-black woodland before speeding through the remaining 300 metres of track, with only a headlight helping you navigate the darkness. Riders can reach speeds up to 25mph, remaining in control of the brakes throughout.
Then there's The Nets - a huge, suspended, bouncy net adventure in the trees. During Ffear Fforest, you can access The Nets throughout the evening, giving you a chance to bounce, run and explore while the madness continues around you.
For those looking for an even bigger adrenaline rush, several additional experiences can be added to your night. Nightfall involves a 100ft drop through trapdoors into darkness, while Screamride takes you 24 metres into the air on one of Europe's largest swings before sending you soaring through the night sky. Tree Horrors adds a high-ropes challenge involving obstacles, zip lines and balance elements with the added problem of clowns trying to unsettle you from below.
There's also The Surge, where visitors can listen out for an alarm and make their way to The Nets for the chance to win Zip World vouchers and merchandise. The catch? You'll only have ten minutes to get there and convince the clowns you're worthy of a prize.

Is Ffear Fforest worth it?
If you're looking for a Halloween event that goes beyond a standard scare experience, Ffear Fforest is one of the best options in North Wales. Its biggest strength is the setting. Instead of creating a temporary haunted attraction in a building, Zip World uses the natural woodland around Betws-y-Coed as the backdrop, then throws high-adrenaline rides, darkness, mist and a troupe of demonic clowns into the mix.
For thrill-seekers, the combination of Cursed Coaster, The Nets and optional extreme experiences offer plenty to do. For Halloween fans, the roaming clowns and immersive atmosphere provide the scares. And for groups of friends, there's the added entertainment of watching everyone try to stay brave when a clown suddenly appears from the darkness.
So, if you're ready to find out whether you get the last laugh this year, Ffear Fforest returns to Zip World Betws-y-Coed in October 2026.
