Zip and sip at our Oktoberfest-themed day
We're bringing the spirit of Munich to the mountains of North Wales this September with our very own ‘Ziptoberfest’. Join us every Saturday in September for a day of adrenaline and Bavarian cheer.
How it works
Book onto any Penrhyn Quarry adventure (excludes Quarry Flyer and Penrhyn Quarry Tour) with a 'Ziptoberfest' ticket and you’ll receive a 1 litre stein of beer to enjoy after you’ve conquered one of our experiences. Our on-site restaurant, Blondin, will be dressed in traditional Bavarian decor with the smell of hearty food and cheerful oompah music echoing in the background.
Adventures to Book
Choose from some of Zip World Penrhyn Quarry’s most iconic adventures to pair with your stein! Don’t forget to choose the ‘Ziptoberfest’ ticket at the checkout to secure your slot and also receive your stein.
Velocity
A bucket list adventure – Velocity is the world’s fastest zip line reaching speeds of up to 100mph as you soar like Superman over the heart of Penrhyn Quarry. As far as seeking thrills goes, this is up there! Feel the rush and exhilaration with your nearest and dearest as you take flight on one of our four parallel zip lines. Each zip line is a mile long and lets you take in the surrounding views of the spectacular Eryri (Snowdonia) National Park mountains.
Quarry Karts
Looking for your next daredevil adventure? Conquer the ultimate driving experience with our unique gravity-fuelled Quarry Karts. Rush down the side of a slate mountain along a 3km track, drifting and pushing your driving abilities to the limit. Manoeuvre your way around chicanes, banked corners and through tunnels, with nothing but the hydraulic disc brakes to assist you. Each ticket allows two goes on the track, giving you the chance to get use to it on the first before putting your hypothetical pedal to the metal on your second try.
Aero Explorer
Guaranteed you’ve never done anything like this before! Aero Explorer is a combination of an over-head coaster and zip wire creating an adrenaline-rush like no other. Fly along the track looking down at the quarry below you. Climb the spiral staircases before launching off and gliding around a 400m track. This will get your blood pumping as you twist and spin round corners and dips, before landing back on your feet.
Sip and Eat
Once you've completed your adventure, head to our on-site restaurant to enjoy a taste of crisp, cold beer. You will be greeted with your stein surrounded by a Bavarian-style room.
Take a seat along our 'beer hall benches' and invite your group to join you for a drink after your adventure. Even if the whole group isn't taking part in an adventure, you can buy a stein on the day and raise a glass.
No stein of beer is complete without a Bratwurst or pretzel in hand. You will be able to purchase a range of traditional German foods, just like what you would see at Oktoberfest. Feel free to purchase some of our Bavarian food offerings available on the day.
