This event runs from 21st November to 24th December, and you can expect it to take you around 1 hour to complete.
There is no age restriction to Tower Grotto. We just politely request that every person, child or adult who meets Santa, has a ticket.
Parking is included in your Tower Grotto experience! Just drive in, park up, and dive straight into the Christmas grotto experience.
Experience Christmas joy with this classic, traditional grotto, where Santa and his team of elves await.
Begin your journey by heading over to the grotto, located on the Cegin Glo restaurant mezzanine with brilliant views of the Zip World Tower adventure unfolding outside. Meet the man himself and receive a special Welsh slate bauble, which you can take to the decoration station. Try your hand at letter crafting, before taking home your very own letter from the Official Desk of Santa. All this festive fun makes for hungry work so why not opt for a yummy bite to eat from the delicious Cegin-Glo menu, where you will find a few festive favourites.

What better time to tell Santa what you’d like for Christmas than in person! So, get your thinking hats on and make your list a good one and be sure not to miss anything. Santa and his team of elves and reindeer will fly your letter back to the North Pole where they create all of their gifts for the good boys and girls around the world!
Looking for Santa? Follow the twinkling fairy lights up the steps to where he awaits your visit. You will find Santa inside his cosy Grotto where he loves to keep warm. Santa will welcome you inside to listen to your Christmas wishes, read your letter, and thank you with a special gift. Santa will also join you for some festive photographs for you to remember your experience.
Not only do you get a gift from the main man himself, but you also get your very own Welsh slate bauble to decorate at our craft station! Get your creative juices flowing and decorate to your heart’s content, ready for centre stage on the tree. A wonderful memento or something to gift over the festive season.
Of course, it wouldn’t be a grotto experience without a little something to take home before the big day. Santa has magical gifts suitable for all ages, you’re more than welcome to open these while you’re with us or save them for Christmas Day.
Grab your coat and bring plenty of festive cheer to our Cegin Glo Bar and Bistro. Here, there will be plenty of activities for you to get stuck into. Why not start with writing your letter to Santa at our letter writing station; you could even give it to the main man himself!

The Grump is ready to spread anything but holiday cheer this year! The Grump is here to stir up some mischief and mayhem at Tower Grotto. Don’t expect smiles or laughter - he’s more interested in stealing them! But be warned, beneath that grumpy exterior, even The Grump can’t resist the magic of the season.

How to find us
Located near the bustling town of Aberdare and with many bus and train links nearby, you’ll be knocking on Zip World Tower’s door before you know it. We’re located just 40 minutes’ drive from Cardiff, Wales’ capital city.
We recommend using public transport, but you'll have no trouble reaching us regardless of your mode of travel.
