Ready to embark on a totally unique, out-of-this-world adventure? Velocity Night Flights are returning to Zip World Penrhyn Quarry for select dates in 2024, so make sure you don’t miss out on the limited number of spaces we have available. If flying the world’s fastest zip line underneath the stars sounds like your thing, plus a yummy burger and beer afterwards, read on!

The Adventure

Your Night Flight is an entirely guided experience, so just relax and enjoy the adventure; our team of talented instructors will take you through each step of the activity, so all you need to do is wrap-up warm and bring plenty of enthusiasm!

When you arrive at Zip World Penrhyn Quarry, you’ll be greeted at check-in by our friendly team before heading through to get kitted-up in your harness, helmet and goggles, as well as receiving a safety briefing. We ask that your wrap-up warm but be aware you won’t be able to have any loose accessories, such as scarves on the zip line.

You’ll then hop aboard our iconic ex-army trucks and embark on a 20-minute voyage to the very top of the Penrhyn Quarry mountain. On this journey, you’ll get a chance to glimpse the quarry from all angles under the stars as you ascend the 3km track. Once atop the mountain, you’ll get the chance to soak up the Eryri (Snowdonia) views under the moonlight from the same height as the Empire State Building and grab some selfies. The view extends as far as Anglesey, and you’ll see the stunning twinkling lights of the nearby villages too!

After another all-important safety briefing, you and your group will take your space in our Skyline building (complete with roaring log fire during those colder months of course!) and wait to depart for your flight. When it’s your turn, you’ll be connected to the zip, and with a 3, 2, 1 you’ll be released and will be soaring above the quarry lake before you know it! Reaching speeds of up to 100mph, you and your friends/ family will feel the freedom of flight as you glide side-by-side under the stars on the world’s fastest zip line.

At the end of the zip line, you’ll reach the braking system which will bring you to a stop, and then you’ll have a short walk back along a well-lit path, down to the main reception building where your journey began.

Food and Drink

Included with your ticket is our famous Blondin Burger; a Welsh beef burger topped with bacon and Snowdonia cave-aged cheddar. You’ll also be entitled to a well-deserved beer. Vegetarian and non-alcoholic options available.
