Pistyll Rhaeadr

Pistyll Rhaeadr is one of the most spectacular natural sights in Wales and the tallest single-drop waterfall in the country, plunging 73 metres (240 feet) from a sheer cliff face in the Berwyn Mountains.

It’s often described as one of the Seven Wonders of Wales.

Easily accessible from the village of Llanrhaeadr-ym-Mochnant, visitors can follow a short path to the base of the falls or take a steeper walk to the top for panoramic views across the valley. The setting is tranquil and picturesque, with mist rising from the pool below and moss-covered rocks lining the gorge.

There’s a small tearoom and car park near the foot of the falls, making it an ideal stop for walkers, nature lovers, or those simply seeking a peaceful moment in the heart of the Welsh countryside. Whether you're visiting after rain for its thunderous power or on a sunny day for its calm beauty, Pistyll Rhaeadr is a timeless natural wonder.
