Newborough Beach

Newborough Beach is one of North Wales’s most breathtaking coastal spots, combining golden sands, rolling dunes, and sweeping views across the Menai Strait to Snowdonia.

The beach has been the backdrop to many TV shows and films including most recently, House of Dragon.

Set on the southwestern tip of Anglesey, this wide, unspoilt beach stretches for miles and offers a peaceful escape surrounded by nature.

Backed by the fragrant Newborough Forest, the beach is perfect for walking, horse riding, or picnicking, with well-marked trails leading through pine woodland and onto the dunes. Just offshore lies the tidal island of Ynys Llanddwyn, home to the romantic ruins of a 16th-century chapel and a working lighthouse, which can be reached on foot at low tide.

Loved by families, walkers, and nature watchers alike, Newborough is also a hotspot for red squirrel sightings and seabird watching. With its mix of wild beauty and calm seclusion, it’s a must-visit for anyone exploring the Anglesey coast.
