Rydal Cave
Rydal Cave is a famous cavern above Rydal Water in the Lake District which has been created as a result of slate quarrying.
Rydal Cave was featured in season 2 of Netfilx's The Witcher
This huge man-made cave is unique due to how you enter. The cave itself is mostly flooded and only accessed by walking over a path of stepping stones through the water to reach the drier inside of the cave. Once inside you can appreciate the sheer size of the space and also the beauty of the material the cave is made from.
To visit the cave, you can park at Pelter Bridge and then make your way around Rydal Water, following the path that skirts the lake. The path will then head up a short but steep climb to the cave.
