The Great Orme

The Great Orme is a 2 miles long headland, 1 mile wide and rises 207 metres (679 feet) from the sea. The geology, wildlife, archaeology and landscape is of such importance that much of the headland has been designated a Special Area of Conservation, a Site of Special Scientific Interest and a Heritage Coast

The Great Orme gets many annual visitors to its shores including migrating birds and breeding seals.

Whether your interests lie in history, bird watching and natural history or simply walking or enjoying spectacular views, the Great Orme has something to offer everyone. The headland is also home to the much loved, but sometimes chaotic, Kashmiri Goats who made themselves famous during the 2020 lockdown as they made their way into the town of Llandudno and terrorised resident's gardens.

You can explore the Great Orme by travelling to the top by car, get the legs burning and walk or take one of the many fun forms of transport including the Great Orme Tramway or the cable cars.
