Due to its central location in the Eryri (Snowdonia) National Park, our Forest Lodges make the perfect base for walkers and mountain climbers. From gentle riverside strolls along the Llugwy to challenging mountain routes on Moel Siabod or Yr Wyddfa (Snowdon) itself, a wide range of trails lie close by. Woodland paths, waterfalls like Swallow Falls, and well-marked forest tracks start almost from the doorstep, making it easy to spend full days exploring before returning to the calm and comfort of the cottage.

Set just outside Betws-y-Coed, the cottages offer easy access to both the coast and the mountains, making them ideal for sightseeing across North Wales. Historic Conwy is a short drive away, where you can explore its medieval walls, impressive castle and bustling harbour. Just beyond, Llandudno’s Victorian promenade, pier and Great Orme provide classic seaside views and attractions. With the cottages so close to Betws-y-Coed, also known as the 'gateway to Eryri' (Snowdonia), the cottage location is perfect to combine Eryri's (Snowdonia’s) landscapes with days out exploring the popular alpine town of Betws-y-Coed.

Surrounded by rolling Welsh countryside, the cottages offer the perfect base for nature lovers. The cottages are surrounded by stunning nature, from the cascading Swallow Falls and peaceful Llyn Elsi to the rugged Eryri (Snowdonia) mountains. Nearby Gwydir Forest offers shaded trails , while sandy beaches like Conwy Morfa, and Newborough are perfect for seaside walks. Waterfalls, forests, mountains, and beaches all come together, making this area a paradise for nature lovers.


Our cottages are tucked away off the A470, just past Zip World Betws-y-Coed, so getting here is easy. The coordinates will direct you to the entrance of the driveway leading to the cottages. The cottages will come into view and the drive then splits off into Talfryn 1 and Talfryn 2.

What time can I check-in and check-out of the cottages?
You can check-in to the cottage after 4pm and check-out by 10am on the day of departure.
What do you mean by self-catered cottages – are there any amenities provided?
We provide a fully equipped kitchen including kettle, toaster, microwave, electric hobs, oven, fridge-freezer and dishwasher. The kitchen is also stocked with cutlery, crockery, pots, pans and oven trays.
Do we need to clean the cottages before leaving?
You don't need to clean the cottage before leaving. Our team will strip the beds and clean the surfaces but please leave the property in a respectable manner.
Where do I collect the keys for the cottage?
Keys can be collected from a lockbox on the right-hand side of the cottage by the back door. The code for the lockbox will be provided for you through email before you check in.
Is the cottage accessible?
We can’t class the cottage as accessible due to the traditional layout of the property including narrow stairs and doorways.
Is firewood provided at Talfryn Cottage 2?
As only Talfryn Cottage 2 has a log burner, the first bag of firewood and firelighters are provided for that cottage.
Is there a BBQ provided at the cottages?
We do not provide a BBQ, but you are welcome to bring your own portable BBQ to use outside. We DO NOT allow the use of disposable tray BBQ’s. The BBQ ash must be disposed of properly.
Is there a TV provided in the cottages?
There is a smart TV provided in the living area downstairs.
Where are the nearest shops to the cottages?
Your nearest shops can be found in Llanrwst and Betws-y-Coed which are both a 5-minute drive from the cottage. There is a Co-op and Spar in Llanrwst, as well as a Spar and restaurants in Betws-y-Coed.
